| Black Wood Surround Galileo Thermometer |
£95.00 |
 |
| This stylish black ash wood surround free standing galileo thermometer will look great in any position indoors and shows the current temperature in degrees Celsius.Galileo Galilei was searching for a way to accurately measure temperature and discovered this fascinating method. He placed several glass globes filled with a certain liquid within a glass cylinder filled with another liquid. On doing this he found that the globes rose or fell over time due to the temperature. This galileo works on the principle that the density of a liquid changes as temperatures change. each internal globe is exactly weighted to rise or fall as the temperature changes and thus can be used to accurately tell the temperature. Each globe has a brass tag that hangs from underneath that has this temperature displayed on it.The globe that hangs lowest in the top group of globes with be showing the exact temperature. These beautiful items not only make great temperature reading devices but also make very decorative gifts.Measures 30cm in HeightContains five multi coloured globesBlack ash wood surroundBrass temperature reading tags.Informational box supplied |
